Gold Creek Pond Engagement || Snoqualmie Pass, WA || Kelsey + AJ

We woke up at the AirBnb in North Bend, WA expecting rain. Somehow, miraculously, the rain had subsided overnight. As everyone packed their bags, I insisted that we drive the five minutes to Rattlesnake Lake to take advantage of the moody skies before we continued on to Snoqualmie Pass. And it was SO worth it.

I met Kelsey when we both worked at the same brewery together, and I absolutely adore her fierce personality. I watched as she finished her degree in Western Washington University’s recreation program, and had the opportunity to help her (now) fiance pick out her engagement ring. It made sense, of course, that I would do her engagement photos in one of my favorite places on earth, since she and AJ wanted to explore a place that was brand new to them!

After we got the initial “being in front of a camera” jitters out of the way at Rattlesnake, we moved on to Snoqualmie Pass for a true snow-day experience. And, true to form for a day trip with me, we took a break for a quick shot of tequila before heading out on the snowshoe trail (hey, gotta warm up somehow). Despite reports calling for snow, we ended up with a light misting of rain instead. You’ll have to take my word for it, but there was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it rainbow right when we got to the lake. It was a long, cold, and wet day that I wouldn’t trade for the world.

I don’t pick favorites when it comes to my couples, but this day was up there, especially since we topped it off with dinner and beers at Dru Bru. Honestly, I cannot WAIT for their elopement in Hawaii, or their Hawaiian-themed reception in Bellingham. Kelsey, if you’re reading this, ily!
